Winn Parish moves three precincts into courthouse room after school sale

The Winn Parish Police Jury adopted Ordinance #003 of 2025 on Nov. 17, designating Room 3 downstairs at 119 W. Main Street (Winn Parish Courthouse) as the polling place for Precincts 02/3, 07/1 and 07/2A beginning in 2026. Secretary/Treasurer Karen Tyler said the Old Winnfield Kindergarten School at 1607 Maple Street was sold by the Winn Parish School Board, necessitating a new polling location.
The ordinance states the courthouse meeting room meets accessibility requirements and directs parish staff to notify affected voters in accordance with LA R.S. 18:536. The ordinance language is included in the minutes and certified by Karen Tyler.
