The Winn Parish Police Jury voted Nov. 17 to adopt Ordinance #002 of 2025, which designates the Village of Calvin Town Hall at 455 Elliott Avenue as the polling place for Precinct 04/3 beginning in 2026. Secretary/Treasurer Karen Tyler told jurors the Calvin library is small and has limited parking, and that a polling-place survey found the town hall meets accessibility and other legal requirements.
The ordinance directs parish staff to notify voters of the change in accordance with LA R.S. 18:536. The motion (moved by Mr. Kyle Potts, seconded by Mr. Darrell Franks) passed with the minutes recording 5 yeas, 0 nays, 1 absent and 1 abstained.
