Vernon Ulrich, Jefferson County Operations Manager, described limits to mailed public notices and encouraged residents to use the county's free online hearing-notification service. Ulrich explained how to register for hearing emails and said few residents have signed up despite the service having existed for about six years.
Kristine Warner urged committee members to publicize the signup, saying, "Please tell people it is here." Members suggested practical outreach options including a one-time mailer with a QR code and social-media promotion; Keith Grover said he would investigate adding the notification link to an existing county mailer. The committee agreed that better outreach is needed to reach working residents who cannot attend daytime hearings.
