Treasurer Steve Chesley told commissioners the county had received a new request from the Missouri Department of Revenue for a repayment of sales tax distributions tied to marijuana sales. "We just received another request from the Department of Revenue for another, refunding amount," Chesley said, adding that the resolution establishes a procedure so the county will not need to adopt a separate resolution each time such a request arrives.
Commissioners voted to adopt the standing authorization after the brief explanation. The resolution is intended to streamline processing of refund requests from the state; the county will handle specifics through the Treasurer's Office procedures going forward.
