The Ward County Weed Control Board approved its March 16, 2026 minutes and the bills presented during a June 15, 2026 meeting. Jerome Behm moved to approve the minutes and Lee Novak seconded; the board also approved the bills after a motion by Novak and a second from Blaine Huff. The minutes state that each motion "passed unanimously."
Weed Officer Derrill Fick told the board cash on hand as of May 31, 2026, was $236,388.36 and provided the proposed 2027 budget that the board will present to the County Commissioners the week of June 24, 2026. Lee Novak moved to approve the 2027 budget and Jerome Behm seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Chairman Shaun Sipma asked that planning for the 2028 budget include a salary for a full‑time employee so someone can begin training with Fick ahead of his planned retirement.
