The Ward County Water Resource Board approved submitting a $600,000 preliminary budget request for 2027 after a split vote during its June 8 meeting.
HDR presented figures showing estimated expenditures for 2027 of $1,947,000.00 and estimated revenue of $3,303,429.00. Travis Zablotney moved to submit a budget request of $450,000.00; that motion failed 2-3 with Roger Kluck, Jason Zimmerman and Chairman Tom Klein voting no. Dale Dohms then moved, and Roger Kluck seconded, to submit the original $600,000.00 request; the second motion passed 4-1, with Zablotney voting no.
The board did not adopt a final budget at the meeting; the action recorded is the submission amount to be requested for 2027. No supplemental conditions or amendments to the request were recorded in the minutes.
