The Select Board approved an event permit July 13 for the Saunders at Rye Harbor 10k 50th anniversary race, scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 20. Police Chief Scott Blaisdell presented the application, reviewed the route and confirmed that required paperwork and insurance were in place.
John Tuttle moved to approve the event permit; Howard Kalet seconded and the board voted unanimously to grant the permit. The board did not attach special conditions beyond the department-reviewed safety measures described by the police chief.
