Imthurn cautioned that the Transient Guest Tax (TGT) has not produced as much revenue as projected and attributed lower receipts in part to homeowners using their own property rather than third-party rental platforms; she said the "majority of the Transient Guest Tax collected comes from third party vendors like AirBNB" and estimated TGT collections at about $12,000 for 2027.
No vote was taken on the Economic Development request during the May 11 meeting; budget requests will be reviewed further during the budget process.
