Commissioners approve bids, contracts and emergency claims including Motorola camera purchase

The board approved multiple routine and emergency items during the March 31 session, including acceptance of a $420-per-acre bid from Chris & Tracey Muhlenkamp for a 68-acre county farm and a change to the first installment tax due date from April 1 to May 1, 2025.
Commissioners approved owner-occupied rehab contracts totaling $154,122.75 with four contractors; Heath Butz, health-department administrator, presented and won approval for a $4,467.68 vaccination-related grant and the replacement of the department copier through RICOH. "While the amount is a little bit less than usual at $4,467.68, they would like to purchase refrigerator and privacy screens," Mr. Butz said.
The board approved a Community Corrections grant application for $188,905 and multiple emergency claims, including $11,186.55 to US Aggregates (ARP funds) and an emergency claim to Motorola Solutions for $264,626 for body and vehicle cameras, funded from ARP. Motions on claims, contracts and reports were made by commissioners Doug Horn and Duane Monroe and passed by unanimous vote.
