Henry Coburn, presenter, announced that applications are open for the free six-week Greenlink Citizens Transit Academy, a program designed to educate residents about public transit operations, provide behind-the-scenes access and include the opportunity to test-drive a bus.
"Applications are open for Greenlink Citizens Transit Academy, a free 6 week program to educate residents about public transit, go behind the scenes, and even test drive a bus," Coburn said. The bulletin did not specify application deadlines, eligibility criteria or session start dates; interested residents were directed to Greenlink's website for details.
City staff framed the academy as an educational opportunity to increase public familiarity with transit services and encourage ridership.
