Lantana police honor Investigator Christian Vargas as 2024 Employee of the Year

The chief recounted several investigations, including a multi-jurisdictional case linked to other robberies and an investigation tied to fentanyl deliveries that resulted in federal adoption and long prison sentences for the suspect. "Please join me in congratulating him on the well deserved employee of the year," the chief said as Vargas and his family were recognized.
Vargas, who the chief said transitioned into the investigator role months earlier, thanked colleagues and command staff. The recognition included praise for his community-minded follow-up with victims, court work and background investigations for department hires. The council and mayor joined in thanking him for his work on public-safety priorities.
