The Town Meeting approved two separate appropriations for Spaulding School: $1,000,000 for bathroom renovations and $1,250,000 for exterior projects (doors, hardware, brick repointing, soffit and canopy repairs). Both motions were presented by Town Clerk Michele Urch and passed by voice vote without public comment recorded.
Packet slides explain the bathroom work will renovate four student and four staff bathrooms to bring them into building-code and ADA compliance, replacing floors, fixtures and partitions. The exterior package includes door and hardware replacements (estimated $250,000) and repointing and façade repairs (estimated $1,000,000). Architects and town staff identified these needs as priorities in the Facilities Master Plan and ACCE recommendations.
