Daniel Priestley of Planning & Zoning told the board the Zoning Commission forwarded a recommendation concerning zoning text amendments for nuclear energy facilities, nuclear waste storage and a reorganization of the ordinance. "This item is, simply to, transfer over the recommendation from the zoning commission to the board of supervisors concerning the nuclear, energy issue," Priestley said.
Board members voted to receive the zoning commission recommendation and set three public hearing dates (July 22, July 29 and August 5 at 4:40 p.m.) to consider the proposed text changes. Priestley noted the commission recommended a conditional-use permit process for the general industrial zoning district; the hearings will allow public input before any final ordinance changes.
