Van Buren County supervisors accepted the resignation of full-time dispatcher/jailer Kathryn Yarnell effective June 27, 2025, and appointed Bethany Smith, Keosauqua, as full-time accounts payable/payroll clerk effective May 28, 2025, at $19.25 per hour. Both motions passed on separate votes (Ayes: 2).
The board also approved Resolution #05-27-2025, which authorizes the county auditor to have one full-time deputy auditor and one full-time clerk and records the auditor's appointment of Laura Thomas as Deputy Auditor and Bethany Smith as Clerk. The roll-call vote on the resolution recorded Meek as not present, Waugh Aye, and House Aye; the resolution was adopted May 27, 2025.
