Grant County adopts new audit cost-share policy, splits $6,000 single-audit fee
Summary
The Grant County Court approved a new audit allocation method based on a per-dollar multiplier from 2024–25 actuals and agreed to split the $6,000 single-audit fee among the General Fund, Road Department and Airport.
The Grant County Court on April 15 adopted a new method for allocating audit costs among county departments, directing that the approach be added to Resolution 24-55, Exhibit A.
Treasurer Julie Ellison and the court discussed a per-dollar multiplier calculation based on actual 2024–25 revenues and expenses; the court recorded that the $6,000 single-audit fee will be split three ways — between the General Fund, the Road Department and the Airport. Judge Hamsher moved to approve the audit cost-share breakdown and the updated audit policy; Commissioner Wilson seconded the motion and it carried 3–0.
Court records state the change is intended to make audit allocations more transparent and justifiable to auditors and the public. The court also approved revising Resolution 24-55 to incorporate the new allocation method. No implementation timetable beyond the resolution amendment was specified in the minutes.
