Vernon Township trustees set site inspection after fence dispute between Wenke and Thorud trust

The Van Buren County Board recessed its meeting May 27 to conduct Vernon Township business, where acting Township Clerk Lisa Plecker reviewed email correspondence about a fence controversy between Eugene and Candy Wenke and the Benjamin A. Thorud Irrevocable Trust. Plecker reported Ben Thorud had asked if the acting trustees had hired someone; she said the trustees had not and, at their direction, told Thorud to have his contractor proceed.
Acting Township Trustee House said he received photographs and video from Thorud on May 25 indicating the work was complete. Trustees House and Waugh agreed to meet at the courthouse on Wednesday, May 28 at 4:00 PM and then visit the site to review the fence and water gap.
