Board directs limited work to restore access to parcel slated for sale after DNR review of landfill covenant

Following DNR review of an Environmental Covenant update, the board directed staff to make the access passable for an adjacent landowner to minimize cost on the parcel planned for sale (Parcel #540114100220); survey pins will be located on the parcel the county will keep (Parcel #540114100200).
County Engineer Ryne Thornburg told the board May 27 that the Iowa DNR reviewed a proposed update to the Environmental Covenant for the two parcels comprising the county landfill and requested the description for the parcel the county plans to retain (Parcel #540114100200). For the parcel the county plans to sell (Parcel #540114100220), Thornburg asked for the board's input on the level of work to restore the access path for the adjacent landowner.
The board directed staff to make the access passable while minimizing work and cost. Thornburg said he will locate survey pins along the west boundary of the parcel the County intends to keep. No sale closing or contract terms for the sale parcel were recorded in the minutes.
