Grant County budget committee adopts new audit-fee formula

Budget Officer Julie Ellison presented a new formula to allocate audit expenses among county funds and departments, saying the formulas and instructions will be attached to Resolution 24-55. She told the committee the plan had been reviewed by the court and the road department and was being offered to the Budget Committee for adoption.
Judge Jim Hamsher moved "That the budget committee adopt the audit formula as presented by the Budget Officer." Amy Kreger seconded the motion and the committee approved it 6–0. Ellison said the formulas will be included as Exhibit A to Resolution 24-55 and staff will include the supporting instructions in the resolution package for the next County Court meeting.
The vote implements a procedural change to how audit fees are apportioned across single-audit departments and general-fund programs; the committee recorded its decision as a formal adoption and included the motion and vote in the minutes. No amendments to the formula were recorded during the session.
