Supervisors authorize up to $297,900 for Bentonsport Bridge engineering work

The Van Buren County Board of Supervisors on May 27 authorized the chairman to sign an agreement with Kirkham Michael & Associates of Urbandale to provide engineering services for the Bentonsport Bridge Rehabilitation Project for a fee not to exceed $297,900. County Conservation Director Richard Daugherty recommended the firm and the board approved the contract on a motion by House, seconded by Waugh (Ayes: 2).
Daugherty also reported that the county sold a trailer at the Keosauqua Sales Barn earlier in May for $700; proceeds will be deposited into the Land Acquisition/Capital Improvement Fund (Fund #68000). The engineering agreement covers services up to, and including, the Department of Transportation letting for the project.
