Baxter and Woodman presented modeled projections for 2040 and 2070 and explained how king tides and storm overlays change exposure. The consultant said the intermediate-high 2070 curve could raise levels by roughly three feet above a year-2000 baseline in the worst-case scenario; 2040 conditions are closer to current king-tide events.
"We ran 25 different flooding scenarios associated with sea level rise," Jeffrey Hiscox said, noting that the team compared a current-year baseline (2024) with future projections and layered storm rainfall (100- and 500-year events) to assess both coastal and pluvial flooding.
