Jeffrey Hiscox, PE, associate vice president at Baxter and Woodman, told the Town Council that the townwide vulnerability assessment was paid for by a Florida Department of Environmental Protection grant and aims to identify municipal assets vulnerable to sea level rise so the town can prioritize projects and pursue implementation funding.
"This is administered by the Office of Resiliency and Coastal Protection," Hiscox said, describing the study's intent to assess impacts on assets the municipality owns or that are critical to its operations. He said the team ran multiple scenarios — including 2040 and 2070 intermediate low and high curves, king tides, and storm overlays — to compare current conditions with future projections.
