The Town Council on March 10 proclaimed April as Water Conservation Month and April as Volunteer Appreciation Month. Mayor Lythgoe read the proclamation recognizing collaboration between the Town and state water management districts and noting town water‑conservation efforts and updated population projections used in planning.
Elizabeth Issa of the Development Services Department said the town submitted five projects for state consideration — three water/sewer projects to the Department of Environmental Protection and two park projects to the Department of Commerce — and urged residents to attend events including the Barefoot Mailman Family Beach Day (March 15) and a new Business Connections event on March 18. Volunteers at the meeting described library and tutoring activities and staff thanked them for their service.
