He told the council the total reflects a rolled-over library grant from March 2023 plus the town's allocation, and he outlined planned work at the Sports Park, saying the town "will be able to add benches, batting cages, netting, batting cage turf, and bleachers" and that certain items would cost "$49,500." The staff presentation also listed gates, north-side fencing, park lighting and shade structures for courts as part of the combined program.
A council member moved to approve entering the CDBG agreements and to authorize the town manager to execute the agreements and any amendments; the motion carried 5-0. The mayor read the staff-reported total as $99,952 at the start of the agenda item; the motion text later referenced $99,950. The council did not request additional public comment on the item during the meeting.
The agreements allocate funds to capital improvements at the town Sports Park to support recreation and are expected to proceed under the town manager's authorization. The council did not specify an exact construction schedule at the meeting.
