Commissioner Schuler moved, and Commissioner Merritt seconded, a motion to freeze commissioner salaries at 2026 levels and to add a $250 monthly increase for the Chair. The motion failed on a 2–3 vote: Comm. Merritt and Comm. Schuler voted yes; Comm. Rostad, Comm. Olson and Chair Fjeldahl voted no.
After further discussion about the chair's workload and comparable duties, Comm. Rostad moved and Comm. Merritt seconded a substitute motion to leave salaries as presented but add $100 per month for the Chair. Roll call: Comm. Rostad, Comm. Merritt, Comm. Olson and Chair Fjeldahl voted yes; Comm. Schuler voted no; the motion passed.
