Commissioners concur with City of Perry annexation of 35.59 acres on Kings Chapel Road

At the May 19 meeting the Houston County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to concur with the City of Perry's request to annex 35.59 acres on Kings Chapel Road (Tax Parcel 000820 016000) and to change the property's zoning from County RAG to Perry R3, subject to conditions stating that the parcel's existing connection to Kings Chapel Road is not suitable for subdivision access and that County water cannot support additional customers; water service will be provided by the City of Perry.
The motion to concur was made by Mr. Gottwals and seconded by Mr. Byrd and carried unanimously. Chairman Dan Perdue emphasized the stipulations recorded in the motion, including that any additional access will require appropriate changes and that distance and service issues are conditions of concurrence. The Board's action was procedural concurrence with the city request rather than a rezoning decision by the county.
