Administrators highlight student achievements, events and upcoming trips

Superintendent Bryan DeAugustine updated the NICE Community School District Board on a recent Northern Michigan University visit and an upcoming Lansing trip. Building reports included elementary and middle school events and performances: Chris Marana (ARES) reported on kindergarten registration for the 2025–26 school year, teacher aide training, a performance by the band The Knockabouts, an elementary honors choir and a reading month closing ceremony; Griffin Lawson (ARMS) noted upcoming band and chorus concerts and PTO bowling night.
At the high school, Cliff Fossitt said the district had "a proud week or two" citing success in robotics, BPA and music departments and the boys' basketball postseason run. Athletic director Jake Skewis highlighted girls bowling, individual wrestling regionals and the boys' basketball postseason; Nathan Longton presented an overview of the Special Education department. Transportation supervisor Eric Warlin thanked bus drivers and the mechanic for their work.
