The NICE Community School District Board voted to enter closed session under Section 8(1)(h) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act "to consult with legal counsel regarding Attorney-Client Privileged Information." The motion to enter closed session was made by John Grove, supported by Scott Mann, and the meeting entered closed session at 6:12 p.m.; the board returned to open session at 7:02 p.m.
After returning to open session, board members listened to an AFSCME grievance presentation. Several AFSCME members spoke in support of the grievance. The board tabled the grievance until their next meeting, as recorded in the minutes. The minutes do not record further specifics of the grievance or any legal advice provided during the closed session.
