Division of Wildlife hands Kane County a $2.41 PILT check, discusses Lake Powell check station

Dax Mangus, the Division of Wildlife’s new regional supervisor for the southern region, delivered the annual Payment In Lieu of Taxes check to Kane County and introduced division staff. "So my name is Dax Mangus, and, I got the the PILT payment, whopping $2.41," Mangus said during public presentation to commissioners.
Dan Keller, Lake Powell project leader with the division’s aquatics program, described the check station’s function on Highway 89, local hiring and how the station helps prevent movement of invasive species. Keller said the station has been "very successful" and praised local staffing. He also reported current lake elevation and discussed anticipated releases and ramp-use strategies for the boating season.
