MCC discusses outreach, logo printing and school tree replacement; knotweed contract work to resume in spring

The Montgomery Conservation Commission discussed several outreach and small-project items, including membership recruitment, logo printing, a tree replacement for the MES graduating class, and knotweed control plans.
Members agreed to delay active recruitment for new MCC members until spring, using the listserv, Facebook and community bulletin boards at that time. Lynn Locher presented the $25 gift card to logo contest winner Maverick Sylvester and confirmed receipt of a digital image from Sandy; Marielle Ambroch said she will ask Sandy whether the logo color can be changed from orange to green before stickers and brochures are printed. Patrick Calecas reported he had searched for a Montmorency cherry tree for MES's 2025 graduating class but found none available; the commission agreed to revisit the tree replacement in spring 2026. Kip Potter said he is finalizing the knotweed contract with next steps slated for spring work.
