Council member says he was sole attendee at water-quality meeting; outside specialist offers free well testing

Council member Ruben said he attended an advertised water-quality meeting at the high school that few council members or residents attended, and he expressed disappointment at low participation. "I was the only one that attended that," he said, and urged councilors to do a better job of attending educational events that relate to city services.

Ruben also relayed that an outside specialist and students from a Central Washington university offered to tour the wells and perform free water testing. He said he would provide the specialist’s contact information and asked staff or a council member to make arrangements "as soon as possible" so the tests can be completed at no cost to the city.
