City manager reports hires, job postings and TAP sidewalk planning

City Manager Nicholas Payne reported several personnel and project updates to the council on Aug. 19. The Public Works Director opening was posted locally and on municipal job boards (Oklahoma Municipal League, Texas Municipal League, League of Kansas Municipalities and national municipal executive sites). Payne said the city has extended a conditional offer for a Street Superintendent who plans to start Sept. 2, 2025.
Payne also said the RAMP card application process is under way, with bank account setup assistance from Ricardo at First Nation Bank of Oklahoma, and that Enterprise Fleet is evaluating the city’s vehicle pool after some police vehicles began having mechanical issues. He noted that meetings are scheduled the following week to continue work on the TAP Grant Sidewalk project for contractors and that Tyler Tech University training for staff is scheduled to begin (training name shown in the manager’s report).
