Risk manager: county donating surplus masks to Potwin volunteer fire departments

Elizabeth Wingo, director of risk management (Speaker 8), told the commission the county has a surplus of masks purchased more than 20 years ago that were sent to risk management for reallocation.
"So we do have a surplus of masks that were given to risk management to reallocate…We started with reallocating them within the county to county departments as appropriate, but we do still have quite a surplus," Wingo said. She said the county will reach out to volunteer departments across Sedgwick County to offer masks and that Potwin Volunteer Fire Department is the first recipient. Wingo said risk management will ensure volunteer departments get what they need and that this is the first of several planned donations.
