Commission hears plan to move $10 million from ARPA into general fund

"We are also going to ask you all to authorize a resolution to do an interfund transfer of $10,000,000 from ARPA to the general fund to reimburse," Speaker 5 said, adding that the transfer would bring total transfers to $17,000,000 thus far and leave about $3,000,000 in contingency. The staffer said the plan could allow up to $20,000,000 of the county's stated ARPA pool to be used for revenue replacement, earmarked capital improvements or technology depending on year-end needs.
The proposal was presented during the agenda review; staff said a companion resolution will appear with the spending plan for formal authorization. Chair (Speaker 2) and other commissioners asked no immediate questions on the transfer during the overview. No formal vote occurred during the segment; staff indicated more detail will be presented with the resolution.
