A Manager's office representative explained the RFP scoring criteria and said the committee recommended Watkins for an annual fee of $70,000 for a three-year contract with two one-year renewal options: "we recommend to accept the proposal from Watkins Public Strategies LLC for an annual fee of $70,000 and this contract period will be for a period of 3 years with 2 1 year options to renew."
The firm is expected to work with the board, county manager, legal department and division directors to track bills of importance to county operations, taxation and intergovernmental matters and to present potential legislative items to the county. A motion to accept the proposal was seconded and approved by the board's recorded vote.
