Sedgwick County Health Department selects Go Beyond MCH for Healthy Babies electronic records

Sedgwick County's Board of Business Contracts voted Sept. 12 to accept a proposal from Go Beyond LLC DBA Go Beyond MCH for an electronic medical records system to serve the Healthy Babies prenatal and parenting program. Lee Barrier, presenting on behalf of the Health Department, said the committee "unanimously agreed to accept the proposal from go beyond LLC DBA go beyond MCH" and noted the RFP evaluated methodology, experience, data security (HIPAA) and completeness.
Jason McKenney, Director of Children and Family Health, confirmed the system is cloud-based: "It's cloud based." The contract term is five years with a total cost of $69,350; staff gave an implementation estimate of about $27,500 in year one and roughly $10,450 in each subsequent year. Barrier told the board that the program has required monthly, detailed reports to multiple funders and that DAISY, the current University of Kansas-developed solution, lacked functionality to meet HRSA and other funder reporting requirements, increasing manual data entry burden and risk of inaccurate reporting.
