Sedgwick County accepts Pearson Construction low bid for Ridge Road shoulder improvements

The Board of Business Contracts on Sept. 12 approved a contract with Pearson Construction LLC to add shoulders to about 2 miles of North Ridge Road. Lee Barrier, speaking for Public Works, read an engineer’s estimate of $1,326,996.65 and "recommended to accept the low bid from Pearson construction LLC in the amount of $1,145,290.60." The work covers North Ridge Road between 53rd Street North and the Arkansas River.
During questions, County Engineer Lynn Packer said the project is a county-only project, will take about a year, and contractors were given a start window that begins by the end of this year. The board moved to accept the low bid, the motion was seconded and the contract award was approved by unanimous recorded vote. No municipal partners were reported on the project.
