Vernonia fire chief tells board department will seek May ballot measure for operations

Greg Brody, chief of the Vernonia Rural Fire Protection District, introduced himself to the Vernonia School District Board at the Jan. 8 meeting and emphasized the department’s community partnerships, including participation with the Vernonia High School Fire Science program.
Brody told the board that "in May the Fire Department will be putting a measure on the ballot in support of operational expenses and necessary equipment upgrades," and described ongoing outreach to civic organizations and attendance at local events to build relationships and support for the measure.
