Vernonia board approves SIA grant agreement to fund academic readiness and CTE goals

The Vernonia School District Board of Directors voted unanimously Dec. 11 to approve the Student Investment Account grant agreement, accepting proposed projects to support Academic Readiness K–12 and career and technical education programming. The motion to approve was moved by Javoss McGuire and seconded by Amy Cieloha.
Superintendent Jim Helmen presented the grant's Project/Activity and Focus/Purpose and said the funds would be used to support student success under the board-approved goals. No dissenting votes were recorded. The board also scheduled a special meeting for Dec. 15 to review complaints, but the SIA approval was a standalone action taken at the Dec. 11 regular meeting.
