District leaders present proposed student discipline handbook for alignment across schools

Superintendent Trip Goodall reviewed a proposed student discipline handbook designed to align discipline processes districtwide and to make procedures easier for parents to understand. Julie Thoma and Jake Mullins assisted in the presentation and site council parents and staff were involved in drafting the document.
Thoma said the handbook is intended to provide consistency across buildings and to clarify the board's and administrators' roles; the plan is to incorporate the handbook into the districtwide policy package for the next school year and to include an athletic policy. Board members asked questions and were invited to submit suggestions to the superintendent ahead of finalization.
