Julie told the board there is limited information so far about the Southflow Tech Friends gathering scheduled for March 6, but said stakeholders will be contacted and the group plans a tech-industry meetup with networking and a scholarship component. "It is an event that I think is like a tech meetup for people of the tech industry and residents, like a happy hour networking event," Julie said, and asked board members to direct questions by email as details are finalized.
Commissioner Doris Acosta encouraged board engagement and identified Commission Cook as a sponsor and the Chamber of Commerce in North Bay Village as a convening partner. "It's done through the Chamber of Commerce in North Bay Village," Acosta said, urging board members to consider membership and collaboration opportunities while the new chamber establishes itself.
