Captain Jason Kennedy of the Douglas County Sheriff——s Office told the Castle Pines City Council on Feb. 25 that the city had two burglaries in the latest 53-day reporting period and credited residentsb nd stepped-up patrols for the decline. "You should be very proud of your community," Kennedy said, noting the departmentb—ontinued investigations into a burglary ring and promising further updates.
Kennedy presented traffic numbers for the same reporting window: "Traffic stops 358 in 53 days," he said, and reported that deputies issued 250 Castle Pines citations and logged seven accidents in that period with no fatalities. Council members asked whether the office could provide aggregated age ranges for stops and whether crash-reporting delays from CDOT could be addressed; Kennedy said deputies can produce aggregate age-range data and offered to coordinate with his supervisor about crash-reporting procedures. "I can reach out to my supervisor because I know he's working on our crash reporting system," Kennedy said.
