Community Corrections to seek $293,163 in 2027 IDOC grant; staff plans 3% wage increase in budget

The Daviess County Community Corrections office will submit a 2027 grant application to IDOC for $293,163, the same amount it requested the prior year. Director Laura Petty said she is scheduled to request permission from the County Commissioners on March 24 and that the grant application deadline is April 1; the office will call an Executive Committee meeting in March to approve the submission.
Petty told the board that "the State of Indiana reduced the overall 2027 Community Corrections grant funding threshold by nearly $5 million," but added she does not anticipate that reduction will affect Daviess County; final funding determinations will not be known until awards are announced. For budget planning the director said she plans to include a 3% wage increase in the proposed 2027 budget, and Marilyn McCullough noted that wage decisions typically occur in May at the County Council level.
