Board confirms multiple appointments, awards Primland reassessment to CBRE and signs three-year materials contract

During its May 11 meeting the Board confirmed a slate of personnel appointments and awarded procurement contracts. Motions carried unanimously for each listed item, with Steve Marshall noted absent.
Appointments recorded included Donna Pendleton to the Economic Development Authority (Mayo River District) for a four-year term beginning May 1, 2026, and Sandra Anglin to the Southern Area Agency on Aging (At-Large) for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2026. Jonathan Wood moved that Nick D'Addario serve as acting Building Official effective May 11, 2026, and the Board later appointed him as Building Official effective June 1, 2026 upon the incumbent's retirement.
On procurement, the Board awarded the reassessment contract for Primland Resort to CBRE, Inc., and approved a three-year municipal materials management contract with Republic Services of North Carolina, LLC. All motions were seconded and carried unanimously. No dollar amounts for the Primland reassessment were disclosed in the meeting record; the county recorded that the Republic Services contract is a three-year agreement.
