Superintendent Beth Keys briefed the board on budget planning and legislative activity. She said the district is targeting roughly $750,000 in reductions and rightsizing, with much of that expected to come from closing a site and consolidating operations. Keys said she is monitoring several bills at the state capitol and will notify the board if any advance to final reading that would affect district requirements.
Keys also noted staff engagement with special education and music program planning as the district reviews where students and staff will be located during consolidation planning. She said the district has sent a brief revenue survey to staff to solicit ideas for potential local revenue sources and will include those responses in the March 18 work session materials.
