Council OKs $23,000 hangar repair, schedules airport fly-in pancake breakfast

City Administrator Steve Pendergrass informed the Milbank City Council that the municipal hangar roof has become a significant problem with an estimated replacement cost of $23,000. The council voted to repair the roof immediately and to budget for full replacement in 2026; the motion carried 6-0.
Pendergrass also announced a pancake breakfast and fly-in event scheduled for Sept. 6 at the airport. The council received routine updates that the wastewater facility plan and the First Street Project are on track. The meeting record lists July permits and departmental salary totals for budget transparency, but no additional appropriations for the hangar were approved beyond the repair authorization and budget planning for 2026.
