The Westfir City Council voted 3–0 on Feb. 19, 2025, to hire Michael Biwersi as Relief City Operator at a starting wage of $16 per hour, with a scheduled raise to $16.50 per hour after the probationary period. Councilor Deretta Huey made the motion and Councilor Linda M. Love seconded; Mayor Richard Watson and both councilors voted in favor.
The council recessed to an executive session under ORS 192.660(2)(a) at 7:35 p.m. to consider employment matters and reconvened at 7:42 p.m. The motion recorded in the minutes states, "Councilor Huey made a motion to hire Michael Biwersi as Relief City Operator at a wage of $16 per hour with an increase to $16.50 per hour after the probationary period." The special meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m. The Feb. 19 minutes were signed by Mayor Watson and City Recorder Nicole Tritten on March 3, 2025.
