The Select Board moved July 14 to make Packer Cemetery's plot rates equivalent to those at Mount Holly Cemetery, effective Sept. 1. Dennis Devereux, speaking for the Cemetery Commission, noted that with the town's adoption of Packer Cemetery the fee resolution should be revised to include the site.
Devereux also raised maintenance needs, asking whether funds that accompanied the cemetery's adoption could be applied to mowing and tree management. He said tree removal at Carlton Cemetery was not fully completed; Clinton Woolley estimated that any additional safe tree work would likely cost approximately $20,000. The board approved the rate change unanimously and asked staff to follow up on maintenance funding and scheduling.
