Commissioners approve firewalls, change orders for counseling facility and public works project

"A and M piece would be the hardware... which would include all the firewalls licensing... for $108,009.02," Knight said; commissioners approved the combined purchase (totaling $124,086.50 plus shipping) and noted it was under the budgeted capital amount of $145,000.
Public Works Director Gene Magerski described Change Order #1 to the Southwest Counseling Jonah facility (Harper Grant HHS‑1127): the county added site work and paving back into the scope to maximize the grant and will contribute $80,000 to reach the grant threshold so the facility can be occupied. Commissioners approved the $330,000 change order. Magerski also described a single time‑only change order on the Sweetwater County Public Works Combined Facility to extend substantial completion from Aug. 15, 2025 to Sept. 24, 2025; commissioners approved that extension. The board authorized the chairman to sign necessary documents for the change orders.
