Accounting Specialist Rebecca Romero told commissioners the work was necessary after component units were moved from a mill levy to a budget-allocation method and "Taxwise and Munis were not working together correctly and so we had to go in and remap everything and then do like an account reconciliation for the taxes." The public hearing opened with no members of the public rising to speak and the board moved immediately to action. Commissioner Jones moved to approve Resolution 25-06-CL-01; Commissioner Slaughter seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The amendment was described as covering unforeseen expenditures tied specifically to the remap and reconciliation of tax accounts. Romero explained the change was procedural: the county shifted how certain component units are funded and the change required staff to reconfigure account mappings so the two systems communicate correctly. The commission recorded no objections and closed the public hearing after finding no public comment.
