The Kenyon-Wanamingo School Board adopted a language access plan required by state statute and approved the district''s 2025 pay-equity report during its Jan. 27 meeting. The language access plan is intended to ensure parents with language barriers can understand district communications; the superintendent described resource sharing through a regional hub to make services affordable.
"We have to make sure that any parents that has a language barrier, we want to make sure that they understand the communication that's coming up from the district," Superintendent Beth Geese said. The board adopted both items by unanimous voice vote. Trustees said the district will continue to monitor mandated state changes and unfunded mandates that could affect local implementation and budgets.
